Calendar - Met Academy Observer's Calendar 2026 (PRE-ORDER)
I often get parents and teachers asking if I have anything that can help children learn more about the weather — both in the classroom and at home. I’m currently working on some exciting new weather kits which I hope to have available soon, but in the meantime, this A3 size Met Academy Weather Observer's Calendar is a brilliant way to start exploring and learning about the weather throughout 2026.
If you love the weather, or you’re a teacher planning some interactive lessons with your class, this calendar is perfect for you! It’s designed to make learning fun and hands-on, while also helping to hit key learning outcomes for primary school pupils in areas such as science, maths, geography and data handling.
This isn’t just an ordinary calendar — it’s your very own year-long weather adventure. Each day, you can observe what the weather’s been like and pop a sticker on the date to show the main type of weather that day. Rainy? Cloudy? Sunny? Snowy? You decide!
The calendar comes with enough stickers for a whole season of observing (3 months), but if you’d like to keep tracking for longer — or even complete a full year — extra sticker packs will be available to buy from the website in 2026.
At the end of each month, simply scan the QR code to watch a special video from me, where I’ll chat through some of the key weather moments from the past month, share fun Scottish weather facts, and give a little preview of what might be coming next. And who knows — you or your class might even get a shoutout!
You can also count up your rainy, sunny, and snowy days and see how things have changed through the month. This opens up great opportunities for maths and numeracy activities like tally charts and graphs, as well as discussion and writing exercises about the changing seasons and local climate.
If you’re using the calendar in school, why not buddy up with another school in a different part of the country to compare your results and see how the weather varies across Scotland?
