Back in 2020, I kicked off The Mini Met Team, dedicated to helping parents jazz up homeschooling with fun weather and environmental activities. During the lockdown, our group exploded to nearly 1,000 enthusiastic young meteorologists from all corners of Scotland. Every day, kids joined in to make weather observations, participate in learning sessions, and send in video updates from their local areas. These updates even made it onto TV!
As life returned to normal post-pandemic, we wrapped up The Mini Met Team. But guess what? The adventure isn’t over! I'm gearing up to launch The Met Academy next year. This new initiative will equip teachers, parents, and children with localised climate and weather data. They'll be able to compare notes with other regions and team up with schools for some fun weather activities.
