Are you a snow lover like me? If you are this winter will have disspointed you so far. After the cold spell in November and the earliest snowfall for many years in some areas, you may have thought that meant we were in for a bitter winter. But as December dawned, the westerly winds were back as the jet stream fired back up and we were back to windy and wet weather. After weeks of milder and wetter conditions we will finally see some winter weather later this week. Cold Arctic air will move south from mid-week and bring frequent snow showers, inititally to the north and west, then to the east later. Last week I went for a drive to Glencoe to take some photos, and as you'll see from this photo of Buachaille Etive Mòr there is a real lack of snow. That's about to change, which will be great news for the Scottish ski centres, with over 20cm of snow expected on some of the mountains this week.
Snow exictes me so much, plus I've not had the camera out for a while, so I've booked a night away this weekend at Bridge of Orchy. Hopefully I'll have some nice snowy photos to show you at the start of next week.
